Inspire Your Soul: Poland Chizuk Experience 2024
A unique and enriching experience designed exclusively for women
With powerful presentations by veteran educator and historian Rabbi Yehudah Bulman and inspiring insights by senior mechaneches Mrs. Rachel Rudman, this journey promises to be truly transformative.
This year, we embark on a profound journey through the heart of Jewish Poland. From these historic lands come stories of incredible faith, resilience, and spiritual strength. Our journey will take us to places where our Jewish spirit was both tested and fortified.
We begin in Warsaw, the capital city that once boasted a vibrant Jewish community. As we walk through the remaining Nozyk Shul and the Jewish bais almin on Okopowa Street, we will reflect on the lives of the great leaders who shaped our heritage — including the Netziv, R’ Chaim Brisker, and the Divrei Yisrael of Modzitz. We’ll stand at the Umschlagplatz, a stark reminder of the Warsaw Ghetto’s tragic history, and see a remnant of the Ghetto Wall.

Heading south, we visit Gora Kalwaria, the birthplace of Chassidus Ger. Here, we will daven at the kevarim of the Chiddushei Ha-Rim and the Sefas Emes, connecting deeply with their enduring legacies.

Our next stop is Lublin, once the heart of Polish Jewry. We will explore Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin and visit the kevarim of towering Torah giants such as R’ Yaakov Pollack and the Chozeh of Lublin.
The Majdanek concentration camp, located on the outskirts of the city, will provide a solemn moment of reflection on our history.

We then travel to Zamość, a town with a rich Sephardic history, and on to Belzec where we will honor the memory of countless lost kehillos, each step on these grounds a tribute to vibrant communities that are no more. We conclude the day at the ohel of the revered R’ Elimelech of Lizhensk, being uplifted from his life and teachings.

Lancut’s magnificent shul and the kever of R’ Naftali of Ropshitz await us, followed by a journey to Krakow. In Krakow, we will explore the Rama’s shul and the ancient beis almin, gaining inspiration from the greatness of the Rama, the Ba”ch, the Tosfos Yom Tov, and other luminaries. So many opportunities for tefillah!
A visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp will confront us with the stark reality of our past, challenging us to find meaning amidst the memories of resilience and strength.
Our Shabbos in Krakow will definitely be a highlight, filled with heartfelt zemiros and enriching seudos, as we immerse ourselves in the special spiritual atmosphere of Kazimierz – the old City of Krakow. We will also visit the former Bais Yaakov Seminary, founded by Sarah Schenirer, and reflect on her pioneering legacy that continues to inspire Jewish women around the world.
